Isis Sculls

September 2025

Competitor Information

Weirs Lane has closed for emergency gas works. There is no access by road to the club from the Abingdon Road. All trailers should approach from the Rose Hill / Iffley Road direction.

Pedestrian access is still possible from the Abingdon road. Therefore, the Redbridge Park and Ride remains the closest public car park.

The Isis Sculls Head Race returns in 2024.

Run in four divisions across the day, the first three divisions will be the classic head race, run over an 1850m upstream course on the River Isis in Oxford. However, the fourth (and last) division will run on a shorter course designed for novice scullers.

Racing is offered in all sculling boat categories including: 1x, 2x, 4x, and 4x+ and also pairs (2-); and across all Junior, Senior, and Masters categories as well as mixed crews. Doubling / trebling / quadrupling up is permitted. 2- events will be offered across the range of ages and genders for divisions 1-3.

Adaptive entries should contact our Regatta Secretary before putting in an entry.

Division 4 (Short Course)

The last division will be run on an approximately 1000m upstream course above the narrow 'gut' section of the River Isis. This shorter course has been established for beginners, younger juniors, and adaptive rowers. Entries are expected to have no (or very low) PRI scores. Entries to the fourth division may enter the earlier divisions (e.g. a Div 1 4x and Div 4 1x) but should email the Entries Secretary in advance to ensure all entries are appropriate. Division 4 will be appended onto Division 3 at 2:15 pm so rowers, boats and coxes cannot double up between divisions 3 and 4.

Division Times

Divisions will be run at 10:00am, 11:45am, 2:15pm.
